Your Role: The successful associate will be responsible for independent reconciliation and resultant problem solving of benefit carrier data to HR system data and various GL accounts. Specifically:
Reconciliation and problem resolution of benefit costs with carrier and union bills.
Analysis and problem resolution of various GL account reconciliation of outstanding items including PR bank account, accrued 401K, and accrued garnishments.
Research of new laws regarding garnishments, payroll taxes and benefit reporting; integration into processes.
System testing, including writing test scripts, gathering and analysis of financial audit data; analysis and preparation of tax adjustments including understanding cause and proposing process changes to effect prevention.
Support annual and periodic financial audit through preparation and analysis of financial payroll data.
Support the ASC with complex problem solving resulting from system issues, errors or implementation of new legislation including independent research of tax and garnishment laws, as well as benefit reporting/notification requirements.
Our Expectations: Qualified associates must have:
Bachelors degree required, preferably in Accounting or Business Administration.
Minimum 2 years general ledger reconciliation experience.
Independent problem solving and analytical abilities necessary coupled with good troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
