Welcome to BNHRA

 As President of BNHRA, I am excited to lead this impressive and talented group of individuals.  We are committed to continue pursuit of our Mission and Vision, as follows:
 
The Mission of the Buffalo Niagara Human Resources Association is To "Serve the HR Professional" and "Advance the HR Profession" in Western New York.  The BNHRA exists to provide resources and opportunities for members at all levels to expand their knowledge to help achieve the goals of the organizations they work for. 
 
The Vision or long term objective is that the BNHRA will “be the pre-eminent professional Human Resource organization in WNY”.  The goal is for the BNHRA to be the first place that professionals in Western New York look to when they have a human resource need.   The mission and vision are supported by four strategies - - increase SHRM membership of BNHRA members, increase the number certified and recertified members within the Chapter, increase our membership’s participation in our professional development activities and increase our Chapter’s engagement in the Community.     
 
On behalf of the 2007-2009 Board of Directors, welcome to the BNHRA website.  The Buffalo Niagara Human Resources Association is an affiliate of the National Society for Human Resource Management and has over 600 members throughout the Western New York area.  BNHRA has been recognized by National SHRM as a Superior Merit Chapter for 12 years.

About Our Chapter
The Buffalo Niagara Human Resource Association (BNHRA) is the pre-eminent human resource professional organization in Western New York. We are a group of diverse professionals involved in a variety of leadership and support roles within the human resource management profession.
 
BNHRA understands the lives of today's professionals are busier than ever, and finding the time to create a network is sometimes difficult. Whether you are looking for answers, new ideas, or job opportunities, BNHRA provides you with opportunities to stay ahead of the rapidly changing HR field.
 
BNHRA, formerly known as the Niagara Frontier Chapter of SHRM, was founded by a small group of local personnel managers and university professors in 1974. The goal was to provide open communication, networking and information to others in the same profession.
Today, BNHRA represents the interests of more than 600+ professional and student members, representing more than 300,000 employees within the Western New York community.
 
BNHRA is an affiliate chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the world's largest human resource management association.
